Generally, we recommend a visit to see your dentist every six months for a check-up and clean. Early detection of dental problems results in less invasive and less expensive procedures. If you have gum problems or if you have a high decay rate we may recommend you visit us every three or four months.
Parking is available at the Myer Centre, which is in close walking distance to our Practice.
- Myer Centre tickets available for purchase from our reception; $14 for 3 hours

Public transportation is available in close proximity to us:
- Bus stops from most Brisbane suburbs are all within walking distance.

X-rays alert your dentist to important problems that can’t be seen. Without X-rays, only 50% of your tooth surface can be checked – cavities under fillings could lie undetected until it’s too late. We recommend screening Bitewings every two years and large OPGs (panoramic scans of both jaws) every five years.
No, Medicare does not cover any general or major dental work carried out at any private dental practice. You can claim on your private health fund if eligible. Check our Payment Options page for more information.

Clear Aligner / Invisalign Questions
The Invisalign system uses clear, removable aligners top and bottom to gently move your teeth. The light force from the aligners needs to be as continuous as possible to efficiently move your teeth. This means full-time wear of your aligners is necessary to achieve the outcome that has been specifically designed for you.
The length of your Invisalign treatment is based on wearing your aligners full-time. Full-time wear means 22 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Part-time wear will result in the aligners fitting less well over time. This means that your treatment time will be longer, your aligners will be less comfortable to wear and they will not look as good (because you are wearing each set of aligners longer than 1 week).
Invisalign works by continuously wearing your aligners. If you don’t wear your aligners for hours at a time (repeatedly) or days at a time, your teeth will not move in the way Dr Pulvirenti designed them to. This means we may need to rescan your teeth and order new aligners. There may be a charge for ordering additional aligners.
Most Invisalign patients complete treatment between 6-12 months. The length of your treatment depends on how much movement of your teeth is needed. The more complex the movement, the longer your Invisalign treatment will be. Invisalign treatment can be as little as 7 weeks through to 18 months plus.
Invisalign cannot change the position of your jaw. Invisalign is designed to change the position of your teeth, and this can change your bite (where your top teeth sit in relation to your bottom teeth).
After you collect your all of your aligners at the start of your treatment, we require you to come into the practice every 8-10 weeks for an Aligner Review appointment. It is important that you attend these appointments so we can assess how you are tracking against your treatment plan. Aligner review appointments will be with one of our qualified staff.
You need to give us 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend your Aligner Review appointment. If you do not contact us and/or do not show up to your appointment, then a late cancellation fee of $50 may apply. It is the patient’s responsibility to rebook a Review appointment. If you miss two consecutive Aligner Review appointments and do not book another Aligner Review appointment you will be considered to have stopped treatment with the practice.
We recommend that you have a 6 monthly check-up and clean appointment throughout your Invisalign treatment. An Aligner Review appointment is an orthodontic review appointment not a comprehensive assessment of your oral health. We offer a 10% discount on your check-up and clean appointments with Brisbane CBD Dentists.
